Training & Facilitation

Are you committed to creating an inclusive workplace for LGBTIQA+ people?

The Equality Project® can help. Our learning programs and facilitation expertise can provide you with the future skills, knowledge and tools to foster a positive, welcoming, and supportive environment for rainbow communities.

Examples of our learning programs include:

Working with RAINBOW Communities

This workshop provides a good starting point for organisations that want to provide their workforce a 101-style awareness training session about LGBTIQA+ communities and build allyship in the workplace.

This workshop includes an overview of the terminology and concepts around sex, gender and sexual orientation, unpacking the acronym, inclusive language and an explanation of cultural safety and inclusion in the workplace. The aim of this workshop is to provide a foundational understanding of the LGBTIQA+ community and why it’s essential to build allyship in the organisation to create a truly inclusive workplace culture.

This workshop has been updated in 2024 with the aim of designing a learning experience that is more accessible and has a greater impact on creating long-term change within organisations and individuals.

Suitable for up to 15 participants online or up 30 participants in-person.

ALLYSHIP AT WORK

In today's workplace, fostering an inclusive culture goes beyond policies. It's about active engagement. Our Allyship at Work program is designed to empower employees to be change agents. Research shows that allies don't just influence individuals; they inspire others, creating a culture of understanding and support. This workshop focuses on building allyship skills, specifically for supporting LGBTIQA+ staff and clients.

Allyship at Work helps you understand your privilege, recognise your positional power at work, and learn specific actions you can take to show up as an ally for LGBTIQA+ people.

This program aims to empower participants to cultivate a workplace culture rooted in understanding, empathy, and support, fostering an environment where every individual not only feels a sense of belonging but also actively contributes to a more productive and harmonious workplace.

Because allyship is a dynamic action that extends to supporting various marginalised or underrepresented groups, not just the rainbow community, this workshop can focus on supporting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Unconscious Bias

In this workshop, participants will learn about the concept of unconscious bias, how it affects decision-making and behaviours, and the impact it has on the workplace and society. Through interactive activities and discussions, participants will explore their own biases and learn strategies for identifying and addressing them.

The workshop will provide practical tools and techniques for reducing unconscious bias. Participants will come away with a better understanding of how to recognise and overcome their own biases, and and create a more inclusive and equitable workplace.
